For the making of this piece I spent three days at the School of Native Awareness learning how to knapp flint. I am interested in learning ancient skills and adapting the techniques in to contemporary situations.

During the course we camped out round an open fire and I knapped my self a set of flint nails using traditional tools.

I often imagine extension nails as a kind of contemporary weapon. Mine are inspired by arrow flints an equally ancient deadly weapon.
