A coracle is a traditional Welsh fishing boat. For this piece I studied this ancient craft and built my own Coracle with a contemporary Sailor Jerry tattoo inspired lining, which I drew by hand and coloured in with sharpies.

I then took the boat to my local park in Peckham and sailed it to the centre of the pond. I suppose it was the nearest bit of water a city girl could find.

I enjoyed taking this object out of its rural Welsh context , modernising it and thinking about this rural / urban contrast.
